Introduction:
RVTI comes under Government of India, Ministry of
Labour, Women’s Occupation, started functioning under Directorate of
Employment and Training (DGE&T) in the year 1976. The first institute was called
as National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) for Women, started functioning
at New Delhi, with 2 regional institutes called as RVTI, one at Bombay
and other at Bangalore. Today 11 RVTIs are functioning at various places
in India. NVTI and RVTIs are imparting vocational training as required
by the local industry and also providing need based training to become
self entrepreneur. RVTIs are located at Tura, Hissar, Jaipur, Allahabad,
Kolkatta, Indore, Vadodra, Bombay, Bangalore, Trivandrum and 11th is proposed
to start at Bhuvaneshwar. The various vocational courses spread out at
these institutes are categorized as
1) Basic courses
2) Advance courses
3) Post advance courses and
4) short term courses
