Basic courses are as follows:

  1. Principles of Teaching (POT) 
  2. Business Management (BM)

Short term courses: They are made according to the requirements of the local industry or needs of the women. Women’s can approach principal of RVTI and express their willing ness to learn particular skill, a short term course will be arranged according to the ability of the women with previous experience and IQ in the skill. These courses are of 2 to 6 weeks duration. Some of the courses are already designed by looking into the regular needs of women. Women without experience can also take-up various courses to upgrade their knowledge and earn during her leisure time at home. There is no age limit for any of the courses.

RVTI (W) Tura

RVTI (W) Tura started in the year 1986. Today we are running 4 basic courses, 1 advance course and 20 short-term courses. Government has exempted age limit for all the courses.

Basic Courses

  3. Dress Making (DM)
  4. Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA)

 

Dress Making

Course Details

All basic courses are of 1 year duration. On passing basic course students will be awarded National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) certificate, which is recognized by central government and state governments. Passed out students can register their names in employment exchange with this certificate. All basic courses start in the month of August every year and ends in the month of July next year. Applications are issued in the month of June every year. Normally last date of issue of applications is 10th July. Exact date of receipt of applications is published in Employment news paper and in leading local news papers.

 

Secretarial Practice course is designed to become personal secretary in government offices public sector offices and in private companies. Course contains English shorthand speed of 100 words per minute. Typing speed of 20 words per minute, business English and other subjects like accounting etc. On passing student gets job immediately in offices. Students are also trained such that they can appear for staff selection commission and get through easily. Secretarial Practice
Hair & Skin Care Hair & Skin Care is a beautician course. This is a challenging course for women’s. Women can become self entrepreneur after completing this course. Students learn various beauty techniques such as hair style, facials, manicure, pedicure etc. On passing this course some of the students are employed in Doordarshan.
Dress Making is a most suitable course for women’s as they can start stitching garments at the house itself and earn during their spare time. If some body is enterprising they can take up the advance course and learn dress designing and open up a shop. Government will give loans to purchase machines and raw materials. Dress Making
COPA Computer Operator and Programming Assistant course can fetch you a job in government and non government organizations. Apart from this they can take up staff selection commission exams and get jobs in government. An enterprising woman can open office to provide services such as electronic typing, Xerox, FAX, STD booth, preparation of projects reports etc.

Eligibility for taking up basic course is as follows:

Advance Course

We have 1 advance course in Dress Making. Its duration is 8 months. Course starts from October every year and ends in May next year. This is a challenging course for a woman who wants to become self entrepreneur. Last date for receipt of application is 15th September every year. Selection is done as per merit and reservation.

Short Term Courses

We have identified various short term courses which are useful to women in becoming self entrepreneur. Women’s can take up various short term courses and earn during their spare time. There is no age limit for these courses. Course duration is from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Women’s can visit RVTI and can express their willingness in taking up course. New course can be designed as per your requirement in consultation with staff members.
